About the Role

We are seeking a Director Public Health to provide public health leadership, strategic management, professional direction, accountability, and authoritative and expert advice on a wide range of public health professional and policy issues. The successful applicant will collaborate with West Moreton professional leads and the Department of Health to deliver an effective and safe public health programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policies and strategies to improve population health and wellbeing
  • Provide expert advice on public health matters to stakeholders
  • Lead the development of clinical governance, public health practice, workforce redesign, education and research frameworks for the Public Health Programme
  • Drive the functions of public health surveillance and reporting, screening, and promoting health and wellbeing

Requirements

  • Tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification accredited by Environmental Health Australia
  • Vaccinated against certain vaccine preventable diseases as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.01/16

Benefits

  • Estimated salary: $180,000 - $220,000 per annum
  • 17.5% annual leave loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
