About the Role:

The Residential Care Cook will ensure that residents receive nutritious meals at the right time, served in accordance with Anglicare's requirements. This involves preparing and serving meals, as well as directing and coordinating the activities of subordinate staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare nourishing and healthy meals for clients to a high standard and within budget.
  • Ensure safe work practices are carried out, maintaining Anglicare's standards and operating procedures, including HACCP and WHS policies.
  • Contribute to a hygienic work environment by cleaning and sanitizing equipment, floors, and work areas.
  • Monitor preparation, handling, cooking, and storage procedures to maintain optimum food quality.
  • Lead and work in a cooperative way, participating in staff rotation and providing on-the-job training.
  • Contribute to the development of a safety culture by keeping the workplace safe, clean, and tidy.
  • Ensure Anglicare's Christian values and desired culture are maintained, promoting and communicating these values to staff.
  • Provide professional, aligned, and capable leadership to the team, setting expectations, praising and recognizing good work, and developing staff in their roles and careers.

Requirements:

  • Workplace Health and Hygiene Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of food industry experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
