Workforce Planning Officer Role

The Naval Construction Branch is seeking a dynamic and skilled individual to fill the position of Workforce Planning Officer. This role presents a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting the implementation and delivery of continuous naval shipbuilding on behalf of the Navy.

As a key member of the NCB team, you will undertake workforce development activities including recruitment and training for Naval Construction Branch and Continuous Naval Shipbuilding & Sustainment Branch across Australia. The NCB Workforce team is a shared service, with team members located in various sites.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

">
  • Assisting with the design, implementation, and communication of NCB and CNSS workforce plans and instructions;">
  • Managing and planning resourcing/recruitment activities to meet specific strategic goals;">
  • Developing and implementing succession and retention plans for the NCB workforce;">
  • Supporting and providing advice to staff in relation to workforce matters; and">
  • Administering the HR audit and reporting program.">

About Our Team

The Waterfront and Continuous Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment (W&CNSS) Division is responsible for coordinating the uplift of the sovereign industrial base and management of Defence's presence in principal shipyards.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines;

Strong stakeholder engagement skills;

Ability to analyse data and communicate impacts for the workforce;

Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop procedures;

Ability to formulate and develop strategies to improve outcomes for the Division.
