Handyperson Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our Rooms Division team as a handyperson. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our guests and colleagues enjoy a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment.

Job Description:

As a Handyperson, you will be responsible for carrying out various maintenance tasks in guest rooms and public areas. Your focus will be on creating a functional and welcoming space for our guests and colleagues.

  • Reactive Maintenance: Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance issues in guest rooms and public areas.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Carry out regular proactive maintenance tasks to identify and resolve issues before they escalate.
  • Documentation & Administration: Use our digital maintenance system to log work orders, track progress, and document completed tasks.
  • Assist with Basic Repairs: Repair hotel fixtures, fittings, furniture, and equipment, including patching, painting, pressure washing, cleaning HVAC vents, and troubleshooting problems.
  • Support Safety and Security: Follow safety procedures to maintain a secure environment, ensuring all work aligns with health and safety standards.

You will also be responsible for keeping workspaces and maintenance areas clean and organized, and supporting the Maintenance Manager with other tasks.

  • A hands-on attitude and a strong willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • The ability to manually handle up to 15kg comfortably.
