Job Title: Senior Engineer - Water and Sewer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our water and sewer team at Adw Johnson. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in the scoping, planning, management, design, and construction of water and sewer related assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to master planning development areas through water and sewer servicing strategy planning;
  • Develop and manage concept and detailed design of complex works water and sewer assets such as wastewater pumping stations, water pumping stations, PRV's, trunk water and sewer mains, & reservoirs;
  • Work within and assist to coordinate a team of engineers, designers, and draftspeople;
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including clients, councils, and service authorities in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of specialist consultants, including Construction Engineers, Town Planners, Surveyor, and Project Managers to get the best outcomes for all stakeholders;
  • Mentor, guide, and train junior staff;
  • Be actively involved in quality assurance requirements, including documentation auditing, and non-compliance management.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering;
  • 5+ years relevant industry experience, preferably within a engineering design consultancy or water authority environment;
  • Extensive knowledge of local design standards and water authority codes;
  • Comprehensive design skills and a working knowledge of design programs Auto CAD, Pipes++, WATHAM, INFOWORKS, or other hydraulic design software programs;
  • Practical knowledge in areas such as project management and construction are highly desirable;
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet established deadlines;
  • Possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Lateral thinking skills to tackle and overcome complex engineering problems.
