Job Title:

Aerospace Tool Design Engineer

This role involves the design and development of tools used in the manufacturing process of aircraft components and assemblies.

  • Investigate and resolve tooling issues and problems encountered during production.
  • Evaluate and address non-conforming tool issues.
  • Create designs and drawings for new and modified tooling.
  • Maintain tool configuration control through effective use of a database system.
  • Provide technical support to quality assurance, including analysis and verification of data produced by coordinate measuring machines.
  • Liaise with internal and external suppliers to achieve timely and cost-effective tool modification and manufacture.
  • Ensure that tooling designs comply with relevant government and state legislation and regulations regarding occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Deliver all work assignments in an effective and efficient manner.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience using CATIA V5 software is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of occupational health and safety implications within the field.
  • Proficiency in the use of email, databases, internet, and Microsoft Windows and Office suite of tools.
  • Full, unrestricted working rights.
