The Tool Design Engineer will be responsible for undertaking a range of tasks in support of tooling used in the manufacture of aircraft components and assemblies. The incumbent will undertake the investigation and resolution of tooling issues including new and modified tooling designs, tooling dispositions, preparation of tooling use instructions, and the provision of technical support to Tooling Quality Assurance.

• Investigation and timely resolution of tooling issues / problems encountered during production
• Assessment and disposition of Tool Non-Conformance issues
• Development and preparation of tooling designs and drawings for both new and modified production tooling
• Maintaining tool configuration control through the effective use of the BAA TRACS database system
• Provision of technical support to Tool Quality Assurance including analysis and verification of data produced by coordinate measuring machines
• Liaison with internal and external suppliers to achieve timely and cost-effective tool modification / manufacture
• Ensuring that tooling designs prepared comply with government and state legislation and regulations as they relate to OH&S requirements
• Ensuring the delivery of all work assignments are completed in an effective and efficient manner

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Experience using CATIA V5 software favorable
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated skills in problem solving
• Exposure to Quality Assurance processes and procedures
• Understanding of OH&S implications within the field
• Familiar with use of email, databases, Internet and Microsoft Windows & Office suite of Tools
• All candidates must have full, unrestricted working rights

This is an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement position and classified as an Engineer 1A.
