Aerospace Design Specialist

Are you a skilled professional with a passion for aerospace engineering? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Aerospace Design Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing tools used in the manufacture of aircraft components and assemblies.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience. Additionally, they should have proficiency in using CATIA V5 software and excellent communication skills. Experience working in a quality assurance environment and knowledge of OH&S requirements are also highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve tooling issues promptly and effectively to minimize downtime and ensure smooth production processes.
  • Determine the root cause of tooling problems and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and prepare detailed drawings and designs for new and modified production tooling.
  • Maintain accurate records of tool configuration control and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration.
  • Provide technical support to Tool Quality Assurance teams, ensuring that all data produced by co-ordinate measuring machines is accurate and reliable.
  • Liaise with suppliers to achieve timely and cost-effective tool modification and manufacture.
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with tool design and implementation to ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in using CATIA V5 software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in quality assurance environments and knowledge of OH&S requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
