The Tool Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting the tooling used in the manufacture of aircraft components and assemblies. The role involves investigating and resolving tooling issues, designing and modifying tooling, preparing tooling use instructions, and providing technical support to Tooling Quality Assurance.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Investigate and resolve tooling issues encountered during production
  • Assess and disposition Tool Non-Conformance issues
  • Develop and prepare tooling designs and drawings for new and modified tooling
  • Maintain tool configuration control using the BAA TRACS database system
  • Provide technical support to Tool Quality Assurance, including analysis of data from coordinate measuring machines
  • Coordinate with internal and external suppliers for timely and cost-effective tooling modifications and manufacturing
  • Ensure tooling designs comply with relevant legislation and OH&S requirements
  • Complete work assignments effectively and efficiently

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with CATIA V5 software is advantageous
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Quality Assurance processes
  • Understanding of OH&S implications in engineering
  • Proficiency with email, databases, internet, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Full, unrestricted working rights are required

This is an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement position, classified as an Engineer 1A.
