A Rare Opportunity to Lead the Finance Function in a Progressive Agricultural Enterprise

Our client is an established agricultural business with a strong focus on cattle production. With over 50 years of experience, they have undergone significant expansion and are now a major supplier of grain-fed cattle to the region.

Job Description:

This is a unique opportunity for a skilled Senior Accountant to take charge of all finance-related activities, from transactional processes to strategic financial leadership. Given the lean structure of the business, you will be comfortable performing a wide range of tasks, including working with your accounting team on fundamentals, cash flow management, reporting, and advising directors on key financial decisions.

  • Financial Planning and Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive financial plans to support growth targets;
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead all budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities;
  • Reporting and Analysis: Oversee reporting, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements;
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas of opportunity, improvement, and risk; ensure compliance with regulations and improve processes for efficiency;
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor the finance team, as well as liaise with auditors, external advisors, and key stakeholders.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must be CA or CPA qualified with substantial experience in commercial accounting. We also consider applicants with extensive experience in public accounting who are looking to transition to management accounting. A background or interest in the livestock sector is highly regarded, as the role involves monitoring industry trends such as cattle prices and advising directors on business performance, profitability, and growth opportunities.
