Job Opportunity

This is a challenging and rewarding role that involves providing technical advice and support to the business in closure planning, management and minimisation of risks and impacts on the physical environment as they relate to closure.

About the Role
  • The Senior Closure Advisor will play an integral role in assisting mine closure team in the development of closure designs and studies.
  • Undertake project planning and coordination for research and development projects.
  • Work with site personnel and contractors to ensure the development of mine closure studies and site closure plans to meet project and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of business closure standards and procedures.
  • Support the functional team by providing information and guidance on Closure aspects at an operational site
  • Integrate with site teams to embed closure plan during operations to minimise future liabilities.
  • Contribute to engagement with Traditional Owners, regulators, local communities and land holders to ensure stakeholder concerns and expectations are addressed
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mining, Civil or Environmental), Environmental Science, Geoscience, or similar
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in mining; operations or consultancy
  • Mine closure / environmental restoration experience highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of Environmental Legislation relevant to the Mining Industry.
