The role of Training Device Simulator Technician is based at RAAF Amberley in Brisbane. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining training devices through general pre-operations, post-operations, and component handling
  • Performing maintenance, repair, test, installation, configuration, upgrade, and modification of simulators and training components, hardware, and software according to approved documentation
  • Collaborating with colleagues to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components
  • Contributing to BDA's Environmental, Health & Safety Management System
  • Assisting in maintaining the ongoing qualification process for Synthetic Training Devices
  • Working in a rotational shift pattern to support training requirements

Requirements for this position include:

  • Familiarity with aircraft flight systems is beneficial, but not essential
  • Certificate IV Aeroskills - Avionics MEA0618 or equivalent is desirable
  • Experience in maintaining C-17 Globemaster electrical, instrument, navigation, communication, and mission systems is also desirable
  • Proficiency in IT skills is advantageous
  • A minimum NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory
  • Citizenship status must meet Defence security requirements
