Job Title: Coxswain, Lizard Island Resort

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Coxswain to join our team at Lizard Island Resort.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in all boating operations, including tour preparations, guest inductions, water transport services, and servicing vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain marine equipment and operate marine vehicles to transport guests, team members, and tours
  • Ensure the consistency, quality, and integrity of the delivery of guest service related to the activities function
  • Meet and greet incoming and outgoing guests, conduct tours, spearhead activities, and oversee property transfers
  • Support the implementation of plans and strategies to improve speed of service and operational efficiencies
  • Create a safe work environment by assisting with implementation of OH&S policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Certificate of Competency - Full Grade 1 Coxswain or higher required
  • Must hold AU HLTAID009, HLTAID011, HLTAID015
  • Other required certificates include manual driver's license, Long Range Operator certificate of proficiency, Responsible Service of Alcohol, AS 2299 diving medical certificate, Provide Advanced Resuscitation, and Oxygen Therapy certificate
  • Knowledge of marine environment, dive industry, resort flora, fauna, bird, and animal life
  • Fishing guide experience and PADI instructor certification preferred
  • Valid Padi Diving insurance and PADI membership Dive Master or Dive Instructor qualifications will be highly regarded
