Accounts Officer

Job Summary

The Graco Australia Accounts Officer is a key role within the Finance team, responsible for performing all accounting, fixed assets, and credit duties for the Australia and New Zealand region. This position reports to the Finance Manager and is a critical part of ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of accurate and orderly accounting records and production of meaningful reports
  • Weekly bank reconciliation, bank statement reconciliation, and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Accounts receivable/debt collections and maintenance of required days sales outstanding (DSO)
  • Review and release of credit holds on a timely manner and customer credit evaluation
  • Meet accounting and reporting deadlines

Financial Accounting

  • Responsible for general ledger, accounts receivable, demo inventory, and fixed assets
  • Weekly bank reconciliation and bank statement reconciliation
  • Monthly FBT data preparation
  • GST report and reconciliation with general ledger
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations and monthly payroll reconciliation
  • Calculation of sales rebates and royalty
  • Assist Finance Manager in preparation of annual and mid-year budget
  • Month-end revenue recognition check and coordination with the warehouse to obtain required information
  • Periodical expense analysis and demo reporting to AP
  • Perform special projects as assigned by Finance Manager

Credit Control

  • Monitor Australia and New Zealand accounts receivable collections and maintain required DSO level
  • Review and release credit holds on time
  • Allocate daily customer receipts and attend to customer queries
  • Reconcile customer accounts and raise credit/debit notes
  • New customer setup
  • Analyze customer credit and financial status on a regular basis and make credit limit suggestions to Finance Manager and AP Credit Controller

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist with corporate SOX audits, internal audits, and external audits
  • Assist with annual income tax return, FBT return, and payroll tax work
  • Team work – Back up for accounts payable work when required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2-5 years accounting experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong proficiency in operating a PC, as well as spreadsheet (Excel) and word processing (Word) software
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality on company and departmental activities and projects
  • Ability to multi-task and support various efforts in the department simultaneously, work under pressure, and meet deadlines as required
