Amazon Web Services (AWS) is on the lookout for a Security Assurance Manager who will spearhead the Assurance strategy. Your role will involve visionary thinking and strategic planning, with accountability for the security assurance of AWS services within your designated region. You will also maintain a proactive approach and meticulous attention to detail that promotes ongoing rapid enhancement. A keen interest in grasping the intricacies of legal, regulatory, and compliance mandates across various sectors in your region is essential. You will be engaged in deciphering regulatory complexities and compliance requirements, effectively communicating these to teams in engineering, operations, audit, public policy, legal, and sales.
Success in security is gauged by the speed of innovation and the effective management of risk. You will aim to transform the security assurance experience into one that is more beneficial and seamless for all our customers. Comfort in supporting interactions with regulators, customer auditors, architects, security officers, legal professionals, and policymakers is crucial. You will be adept at understanding the diverse requirements of regulators and government assurance entities. Placing the customer at the forefront, you will collaborate with a broad team of specialists, program managers, and engineers dedicated to earning and maintaining customer trust.
A solid grasp of cloud technologies, experience in security assurance, and a proven track record in implementing innovative strategies to navigate challenges are vital. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a regulatory security authority for AWS, clients, auditors, and regulators concerning regional and domestic regulations on outsourcing, cybersecurity, and operational resilience.
- Collaborate with public policy to evaluate legislative initiatives for their potential impact on AWS and our clients, devising suitable mitigation and implementation strategies.
- Design and implement long-term regulatory projects and initiatives, which may encompass broad scope and complexity, for AWS and its customers.
- Identify emerging regulatory trends within the region.
- Facilitate, enhance, and support cross-functional teams and projects.
- Produce thought leadership content on cloud and emerging technologies for regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Manage tight deadlines and strive for results while maintaining a strong focus on detail.

- Utilize cross-functional business and technical skills to assess and manage risks, measure and report on progress, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and balance business needs with technical constraints.
- Leverage influence over authority to drive project outcomes.
- Regularly present to senior leadership, showcasing the ability to distill complex problems and solutions into clear and understandable formats.

The Region Services team reimagines how AWS designs, constructs, and operates AWS regions to facilitate new AWS Cloud Infrastructure and Services offerings for customers across all industries and sizes, including startups, enterprises, and public sector organizations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in regulatory compliance, banking or non-banking supervision and examination, regulatory affairs, or public sector agencies involved in cybersecurity management and/or operations.
- 7+ years of experience collaborating directly with senior government officials, boards of directors, and/or executives on financial regulatory, technology, or related policy matters.
- Experience in security-related fields, such as cybersecurity, audit, or security architecture.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with enterprise ticketing systems.
- Project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Skills in process development and improvement.
