Seeking Respiratory Medicine Specialist

The Western Sydney Local Health District is looking for a qualified medical practitioner to fill the role of Permanent 0.6 FTE Staff Specialist in the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine.

This position will primarily be located at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals, where you will provide clinical services for patients with respiratory conditions, including inpatient and outpatient care, bronchoscopy, pleural procedures, and lung function reporting.

You will also be responsible for participating in quality assurance activities, administrative duties, and overseeing discharge summaries and DRG coding.

Bronchoscopy procedures will be performed at the Endoscopy Centre at Blacktown Hospital, which has recently commenced operations. This position will play a crucial role in coordinating the Bronchoscopy Service and performing complex interventions, including organising and participating in lists, developing the service, engaging in quality assurance practices, and facilitating research projects focused on the Bronchoscopy Service.

We are seeking a candidate who possesses or is eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent. You should have sound clinical knowledge in Respiratory Medicine, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.

A conjoint university appointment may be offered within the Faculty of Medicine at the relevant University attached to each facility, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and scholarship.
