The Commonwealth seeks a skilled ICT Procurement Support Officer to supplement the contractor workforce within the Land Network Integration Centre.

This officer will be responsible for supporting and accurately administering ICT procurement activities, including drafting and preparing procurement document packs and obtaining necessary approvals in accordance with Departmental procurement policy and legislation.

The ICT Procurement Support Officer will undertake simple and complex ICT procurement activities to support deliverables and projects in a manner that is compliant with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), Defence Instructions and Land Capability Division Business Rules.

The officer will ensure staff have appropriate information and defensible audit records regarding current and historic procurement activities. They will also be confident with task coordination, communication and maintaining 'dashboards' or similar artefacts to support briefing, decision making and record keeping.

The contract is for one year with a maximum of 230 days per year. Two additional one year extensions may be considered based on Commonwealth requirements and funding availability.

The majority of services delivered under this contract will be at the Land Network Integration Centre facility in Canberra. Some interstate travel may be required to support project stakeholder acquisition and sustainment activities, and working groups.

A three month probation period will be imposed as a condition of employment for all new contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage acquisition and disposal of configuration items (both software and hardware).
  • Prepare and draft relevant procurement documentation to support both simple and complex ICT Hardware/Software procurements.
  • Collate, organise and present current and predicted procurement activity data from across the LNIC to support organisational decisions.
  • Create and maintain the software asset management register.
  • Provide assistance to the LNIC Business Intelligence Manager for non-material procurement as required.
  • Liaise confidently with internal Defence stakeholders regarding procurement activities and work collaboratively to support efficient work processes.

  • Previous or similar experience.
  • Experience and qualifications of the Key Persons to be used by the Panel Member for the provision of the Services.
  • Costing estimates and pricing structure.
  • Completeness of response and attention to detail.
  • Referee Reports.
