Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead our Truganina Print Centre and drive its overall performance. As a key member of our Operations Leadership Team, you will be responsible for striking a balance between cost-efficient production, quality products, and a safe workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Customer
• Responsible for all internal and external queries relating to quality, quantity, and timeliness of delivery of our products.
• A key point of contact for Masthead communication on any product changes or amendments.
• A key contributor to integrating and prioritizing new products into the production schedule.
Financial
• Responsible for developing and managing the Print Centre budget, including quarterly forecasting and reporting to senior leadership.
• Management of controllable costs, including engagement activities, annual/LSL leave, labor management, waste management, and cleaning.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, such as process improvement changes, roster optimization, production changes, and restructuring.
Operational
• Responsible for throughput performance/copies per hour, optimizing the output of our equipment to produce current and new products.
• Responsible for equipment reliability by ensuring programmed maintenance is scheduled, labor is allocated, and breakdowns are resolved in a timely fashion.
• Manage risks, including industrial, financial, operational, HSS, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory obligations.
• Jointly accountable with Logistics for on-time truck deliveries.
• Drive a high-performance culture that continually improves our product lifecycle, from file arrival to delivery.
People
• Lead Safety by example, with a zero-tolerance policy for unsafe conditions and behaviors.
• Effective and timely communication is critical, whether implementing changes, managing performance, or driving employee engagement.
Requirements
• Proven track record leading a medium to large operational site with heavy machinery/equipment.
• End-to-end product life cycle experience, from creation to customer delivery.
• Leadership of 100+ employees, ideally across multiple trades and levels of competency.
• Business acumen and previously accountable for P/L and Budget.
