Risk Reporting Specialist

The Principal Risk Reporting role is a critical position within the Group Risk, Insurance and Audit (GRIA) function, providing strategic insights to senior stakeholders across BHP and externally. Reporting to the Manager GRIA Reporting, you will play a key role in connecting our organisation's decision-makers with key insights to support effective risk management in line with BHP's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare Board and executive papers on BHP's risk management performance and the Risk Framework.
- Prepare and review Company-level risk information for external disclosures, such as the Annual Report and Sustainability website.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit, Group Governance, Legal and other stakeholders to support the delivery of timely and relevant insights to senior decision-makers.
- Analyse risk data to identify trends and inform the prioritisation of activities.
- Conduct benchmarking of the internal and external environment to contribute to the identification of emerging, strategic and current risks.
- Monitor changes in the internal and external environment and regulations that may impact risk reporting.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk reporting and our Risk Framework more generally.
We are seeking an experienced professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who can partner with senior stakeholders to build a culture of collaboration and achieve objectives through respectful challenge and influence. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience preparing high-quality written papers for ELT and Boards, and a strong ability to translate technical concepts into plain English.
Additionally, we are looking for someone with experience in reporting risk or business performance, or in advisory/legal roles that require data or information analysis. A well-developed prioritisation and project management skills, as well as experience in risk management and knowledge of professional standards, would be advantageous.
LocationThis role can be based at our BHP Australia corporate offices in Brisbane, Perth, or Adelaide, with flexible work arrangements available.
