Risk Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager - Risk to join our team at the Clean Energy Regulator. As a key member of our Risk, Audit and Fraud section, you will play a critical role in providing confidence in the agency's ability to deliver its objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate and lead risk assessments and risk management activities, including risk workshops and the development of risk guidance and training.
- Improve the agency's risk management capabilities and understanding of risk drivers through the delivery of risk advice and support.
- Support the improvement to the agency's internal control environment through leading assurance assessments of critical controls.
- Provide accurate and specialised risk management advice, anticipating problems and facilitating innovative solutions.
- Perform research and analysis to make or support decisions that involve complex issues, longer-term planning and liaison with other sections on policy, regulatory, program, project or operational issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills using plain English.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills are essential.
- An effective communicator who can engage and collaborate with staff at all levels across the agency.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
- Candidates must also display a high level of personal integrity, professionalism and impartiality.
The Risk, Audit and Fraud section seeks to provide confidence in the agency's people, processes, and systems to deliver its objectives. The section is made up of three teams who work closely together: Risk, Internal Audit, and Fraud Control and Assurance.
