About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Specialist to join our Credit Risk team at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability and resilience of the Australian financial system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead credit reviews and coordinate review teams to ensure effective risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Deliver in-depth analysis and risk assessment, collaborating with internal stakeholders to support APRA's objective of maintaining a prudentially sound financial system.
  • Develop and implement projects and initiatives leveraging analytical thinking and innovation to drive business outcomes.
  • Review documents and reports related to credit risk, deriving meaningful insights to inform APRA's ongoing supervision.
  • Present findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain effective working relationships, ensuring strong collaboration and communication with colleagues and stakeholders.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant background in credit decisioning, credit analysis, or credit assurance roles. You will possess strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of business. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will enable you to advise internal stakeholders, explain procedures, and determine requirements. Additionally, you will have a keen eye for detail and priority management skills, with a positive mindset and an energetic approach to problem-solving.
