Job Description

This is a senior role within our investment team where you will lead, originate, evaluate, and execute growth equity opportunities in later stage venture and private equity.

  • You will manage a portfolio of growth equity investments across the deal life cycle.
  • Combine your skill set of commercial and financial acumen, strategic thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset to drive success.

This role is located in either Sydney or Auckland.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking someone with strong leadership skills to:

  • Identify and source investment opportunities through various channels
  • Lead a team on evaluating potential investments, including market and commercial analysis, financial modelling, and risk assessment
  • Assess management teams, business models, the market and the competitive landscape

In this role, you will also be responsible for:

  • Leading a team on due diligence, negotiation and structuring of investment opportunities
  • Collaborating effectively with team members (prioritising tasks and separating responsibilities) and external stakeholders
  • Working closely with legal and financial teams to ensure smooth transaction execution and compliance within regulatory requirements
  • Preparing investment papers, presentations and marketing documents for internal stakeholders and investment committees
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 7-10 years of experience in M&A / Corporate Finance, and more recently in a senior role within a growth private equity manager
  • A finance, business administration and/or accounting / law degree & experience
  • Strong financial analysis skills, including financial modelling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis
  • A strong understanding of private equity investment and exit dynamics, including market/sector trends, macro-economic cycles, and deal structures

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal colleagues and external stakeholders
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for investing and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • A proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure
