Construction Project Manager Role

This position oversees the overall management of construction projects, ensuring successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Assistant Project Manager and Project Engineer duties
  • Evaluate and establish budgets and contract prices
  • Negotiate cost-effective subcontract and material procurements
  • Develop and implement job procedures to ensure timely acquisition and material delivery
  • Maintain projects on schedule
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with Owners, Architects, and Subcontractors
  • Collaborate with Superintendents to develop safety plans and implement safety protocols
  • Maintain timely and accurate reporting to management
  • Manage, train, and supervise project teams according to Company policy
  • Organize regular meetings for management and subcontractors
  • Review contract conditions and ensure compliance with all contract terms
  • Supervise documentation of significant project events
  • Direct preconstruction services and activities
  • Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontract bid packages
  • Assist with business development and participate in job interviews
  • Maintain quality control and avoid or mitigate claims and conflict
  • Complete job close-out procedures
  • Conduct warranty follow-up
  • Complete projects with full or enhanced fee

Requirements:

  • Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree or equivalent experience
  • Field construction management experience (5-8 years, including supervisory skills)
  • Problem-solving ability and strong sense of urgency
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • Drafting and computer skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
  • Thorough understanding of project management control systems
