Workshop Team Lead

We are seeking a highly experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead our team and drive quality, efficiency, and budget targets in the hydraulic systems industry.
Job OverviewThis is a full-time permanent role with a competitive salary of $59 per hour + super (38 hour week), company car, and opportunities for overtime. Our client is a well-known national provider of high-quality services across multiple sectors, including mining, energy, industrial, and agriculture.
Key Responsibilities- Set priorities, plan workload, meet deadlines, and achieve objectives as the lead of the workshop team.
- Complete project costing and quoting to ensure projects flow through the workshop area at an acceptable rate.
- Supervise, train, and develop the skills of the workshop team to ensure succession planning and increase job satisfaction.
- Effectively delegate decision-making to staff based on their position and ability.
- Contribute to workshop operations review meetings with the team and Workshop Manager.
- Lead the day-to-day functions of the workshop support team to maximize shop floor production.
- Develop and maintain effective networks with contractors, customers, and suppliers.
- Ensure new and existing employees under your supervision receive adequate instruction and support to complete new employee orientation and training programs successfully.
- Minimum mechanical trade certificate with hydraulic post-trade experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the fluid power industry and/or other related industrial trades/supervisory activities, including workshop, service, and supervisory functions.
- Adequate industry-based training and experience to enable sound managerial judgment.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience, skills, and/or training.
- Required to understand and have worked with design and service of hydraulic systems.
- Must have hydraulic product and application knowledge.
- Negotiation, organizing, costing, and quotation experience, budget analysis, personnel management, and any other relevant supervisory skills.
- Ability to learn key points of the ERP system from a workshop perspective.
- Well-displayed skills in Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people of all levels and supervise teams to achieve best outcomes.
- $59 per hour + super (38 hour week).
- Company car.
- Full-time permanent role (Monday to Thursday 7am - 3:30pm, Friday 7am - 1pm).
