Job Opportunity

Based in Katherine, we have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Mechanic to join our team as a Field-Based Resident.

This diverse role will see you working on top-of-the-line John Deere and Construction equipment, supported by our experienced team at the Darwin branch.

We are looking for candidates with prior experience of performing complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on heavy machinery.

You will have the chance to work on:

  • Tractors, Combine Harvesters & Sprayers
  • Graders, Skid Steers, Excavators, Backhoes

To succeed in this role, you will bring the following skills and qualifications:

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate
  • Previous experience of engine overhauls and major repairs, including electrical, hydraulic, and diagnostic skills
  • A current and valid driver's licence
  • A mature attitude and logical approach to your work, enabling you to problem-solve in both workshop and field environments
  • Possession of high-risk work tickets and/or licenses would be highly regarded
About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work in a resident role, based in Katherine, and be part of our dynamic team. As a Field-Based Resident, you will work on a variety of projects, maintaining and repairing heavy machinery. Your expertise and experience will be essential in ensuring the success of these projects.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • Mechanical trade qualification (Certificate III or higher)
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a field-based setting
  • Current driver's licence
  • High-risk work tickets and/or licenses (desired)

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package, including:

  • $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience
