The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our Katherine Maintenance team on a full-time permanent basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating our gas pipeline infrastructure, ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of energy to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain pipeline and associated facilities to deliver energy for our customers.
  • Knowledge of Right of Way Maintenance for pipeline structures.
  • Third Party Awareness and Landowner Relations – assist and communicate as required.
  • Contribute to the safe culture of the APA Group, looking out for your colleagues, our community, environment and yourself in accordance with APA's HSE procedures.
  • Utilise the Computerised Maintenance Management System to plan and record all the maintenance activities.

Your background

  • Mechanical trade or equivalent work experience in a relevant industry.
  • Experience in operation and maintenance within heavy industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of pressures, flows and distribution cause and effect and basic instrumentation an advantage.
  • Current manual driver's licence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HSE principles and commitment to safety.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to work in a team.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities to maintain operations.
  • Able to work autonomously and in remote locations.
  • Able to work on call and attend to overtime as required.
