Job Title:

Lead Tailings Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Tailings Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering and tailings management, with experience in designing and managing tailings storage facilities.

About the Role:

This role provides technical leadership and guidance to project teams, as well as developing and implementing innovative solutions to complex tailings management challenges.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Civil/Geotechnical/Tailings dam design;
  • Geotechnical analyses using various software packages;
  • Understanding of tailing deposition modelling (Muk3D)
  • Geotechnical and environmental site characterisation;
  • Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems;
  • Project/task management and proposal preparation support;
  • Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications;
Requirements:

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field;
  • Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field preferred;
  • Professional registration preferred but not essential;
  • At least 8 years of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software required;
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment handling multiple project assignments meeting strict deadlines and traveling to client facilities as needed;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills required;
