Job Description:

The Research Analyst position is a key role within our organization. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of ongoing research publications, contributing to the creation of new research content, and supporting the sales team in identifying and scoping new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering timely research outputs
  • Contribute to creating new research content
  • Support the sales team in identifying and scoping new opportunities
  • Engage with the team to refine and establish new research processes and methodologies
  • Provide consulting and analytical support for recurring and new research projects
  • Demonstrate care, precision, diligence, and thoughtfulness in research analytics, report production, and verification processes
  • Share knowledge and understanding of industry developments with team members

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in mathematics, economics, statistics, or finance
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial services with a focus on wealth management, or experience with a market research firm or consulting business active in financial services
  • Understanding of life insurance products, retirement products, and managed investments
  • Familiarity with Australian financial regulators and markets
  • Strong mathematical aptitude, analysis, forecasting/modelling skills
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and conflicting demands
  • Knowledge of PC applications, spreadsheet analysis, and database analysis
