Research Finance Specialist Role

As a Research Finance Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the financial integrity and compliance of UNSW's research and external funding.

You will be responsible for managing financial accounting, external reporting, and ensuring grant and contract compliance. You will collaborate with the research community and across finance teams to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of research funding, including compliance and reporting requirements, spending time frames and allowable expenditure.
  • Prepare compliance reports, certified financial statements, and acquittals for external research contract and grant funding.
  • Produce and deliver consistent, relevant, reliable, and timely research-related financial information that aligns with granting bodies and industry partners' requirements.
  • Establish strong collaborative working relationships with other teams involved in research funding processes.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, along with CA or CPA certification.
  • Strong experience in accounting processes, reporting, and analysing financial information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to deliver results under pressure.
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
