Electrical Design Engineers are crucial for developing and implementing electrical systems in various industries.

This role requires the ability to design, control, and implement electrical systems and products. You will perform detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational standards, specifications, and designs for electrical systems or components.

You must analyze electrical system requirements, capacity, cost, and project needs and then develop a system plan. This includes creating and maintaining product documentation, including product reports and design specifications.

A key aspect of this role is managing engineering projects and delivering them on time. You will enact Electrical System Concept & Design Criteria, performing in Electrical Study & Equipment Sizing Calculation, Establishing Equipment List & Electrical Load List, Preparing Technical Specification & Equipment Supplier TBE, Creating Construction Process Drawing & Deliverables, Taking-off, Electrical Bill of Material etc.

Safety Standards require that you ensure that products meet relevant safety standards and engineering codes. Additionally, you will provide procurement support by technical bid evaluation for electrical equipment. Examine needs on new equipment, calculate costs, and help prepare budgets.

The successful candidate will have a B.Sc in Engineering or a recognized engineering qualification. Additional certificate in design is desirable. They must have 7+ years of detailed design/engineering experience in substation, utility-scale PV, and BESS projects. Experience in Renewable PV Solar Farm and/or large-scale Battery Storage projects (minimum 100MW) is essential.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Australian Standards, NER, AEMO, and NSP regulations. Proficiency in HV substation design is required, as well as experience with PV and BESS system design, integration, HV & LV AC & DC side.

They will have good understanding of Substation & Renewable Energy projects Controls & Communications System. Ability to develop detailed electrical drawings, specifications, technical proposals & reports is necessary.

Experience with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, DigSilent) is required. Understanding of power system analysis (load flow, short circuit, protection) is also important. Experience in an EPC environment managing project design scope, schedule, and budget is desired.

The candidate must be able to liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies. Experience in design review, verification, and assessment of renewable projects is beneficial. Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues is required.

Finally, they will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Understanding of Grid Connection Process is also essential.
