We are seeking a skilled Cloud Telecommunications Engineer to join our team at Amazon, where you will play a crucial role in designing and developing the next generation of telecommunications infrastructure for our cloud-based contact center, Amazon Connect.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-growing business that helps shape the technology and products as we grow. As a Cloud Telecommunications Engineer, you will conceptualize, design, build, deploy, and maintain Amazon Connect's telecom infrastructure, leveraging your expertise in SIP protocol, VoIP technologies, and telecom network operations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable and resilient systems for Amazon Connect's telecom infrastructure.
  • Provide telecom expertise to drive business decisions and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead/mentor other engineers and contribute to knowledge transfer material.
  • Integrate new telephony providers to expand Amazon Connect's telecom infrastructure and delight customers.
  • Work closely with automation teams to define tools for scaling at higher volumes.

What You'll Need

  • 4+ years of experience in major internet routing protocols.
  • 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in telecom network design, focused on SIP protocol, VoIP technologies, and telecom network operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl.
  • 4+ years of experience with open-source VoIP systems like Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, SIPp, SER, etc.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
