Job Title: Social Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Social Support Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting individuals and families in need.

About the Role:

This role involves providing crisis and short-term support to clients, as well as collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as experience working with diverse client groups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide trauma-informed support to clients, including crisis intervention and short-term counseling
  • Collaborate with lawyers, engagement advisors, and other professionals to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and services to enhance client outcomes
  • Represent the organization at community events and education initiatives
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • Strong cultural competency and ability to work respectfully with First Nations communities
  • Excellent teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Commitment to self-care and reflective practice
