The UK and Ireland waste sector is a rapidly expanding market with numerous clients across the region. The increasing demand for waste management services, coupled with stricter regulations and ambitious sustainability goals, is driving innovative solutions. We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team, specializing in waste management projects.


This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of industry developments and work closely with prominent clients. You will oversee projects such as energy-from-waste plants, hydrogen initiatives, due diligence studies, and digestion & gas engine schemes.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of cutting-edge sustainable solutions addressing industry challenges in efficiency and environmental impact.
  • Oversee pre-feasibility, feasibility, and detailed design processes for waste-to-energy systems, digestion, and power projects, and hydrogen initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative environment and contribute to the growth of our Energy sector teams.

About You

Qualified professionals should have a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Strong experience in the waste sector, combined with knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations, is essential.


Additional requirements include:

  • A proactive approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior colleagues.
  • Engagement in the engineering community and understanding of industry best practices.
