Procurement Strategist Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced procurement strategist to lead our procurement strategy and delivery of high-value contract and procurement services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering best possible procurement strategies and outcomes, supporting the team and leading effective management of Procurement activities and relationships with suppliers and the business.

They will lead operationally to continuously improve supplier selection for procurement managed categories including nominated National supplier agreements. They will be involved in high value procurement and contract activities, including all aspects of the contract management process and the implementation of category management plans that succeed in meeting financial targets.

They will also ensure the quality of goods and services provided, contribute to improvement and knowledge management of the procurement process, and supervise monitoring and managing Supply Chain risk in those spend categories for which their team is responsible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding business requirements
  • Managing a small team
  • Leading a strategy/approach for contracting and procurement
  • Tendering Activities (RFQ, RFT, RFP)
  • Contract and Procurement package award
  • Contract and PO Management

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, supply chain management, or a related discipline
  • 5 years+ experience in Commercials, Legal and Category Management of High Value Contracts in a national or global business
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring teams
  • Strong contract and commercial negotiation skills
  • High level of critical thinking and stakeholder engagement
  • Ensuring compliance with policy and governance requirements
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage complex issues
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships
