Healthy Ageing Liaison Officer Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking experienced professionals to fill full-time permanent roles as Healthy Ageing Liaison Officers. In this role, you will play a vital part in fostering connections between Glen Eira City Council and community organizations to promote healthy ageing initiatives.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating programs and services that promote active ageing, ensuring older residents have access to resources and support they need to lead fulfilling lives.
  • Actively engaging with internal and external stakeholders to build partnerships, promote the navigation service, and extend its reach.
  • Supporting residents who require personalized information and practical assistance to navigate their care and support needs.
  • Assisting with the development, promotion, and implementation of strategies to increase resident participation and reduce social isolation through community-based options.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A tertiary qualification in Allied Health or a related discipline, or relevant experience in Aged Care, Aged Care Assessments, or the Community Services sector.
  • Proven ability to communicate and work with diverse people experiencing vulnerabilities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Office suite and literacy in using digital channels for engagement and client management.
  • An understanding of the Aged Care system, reforms, and the opportunities and challenges faced by people as they age.
