Job Summary

This role is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of older people and their families. As a Community Care Professional, you will be working with residents to promote healthy lifestyle practices and maximise engagement.

About the Role:

  • Work collaboratively with residents to identify strategies that promote healthy ageing and independence.
  • Organise activities for individuals living with dementia, focusing on maintaining existing skills and familiar routines.
  • Assess resident's leisure and health needs under the guidance of an experienced colleague.
  • Collect and review relevant information to establish resident needs based on leisure and recreation assessments.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to address challenging behaviour.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are a motivated, self-starter eager to develop a career in aged care.
  • Previous experience (2+ years) in a similar aged care role is preferred.
  • Certificate III in Leisure and Health or equivalent is required.
  • Current First Aid Certificate is essential.
  • Demonstrated initiative, ability to work independently and promote a positive lifestyle environment is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Well-developed prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines are essential.

Working Arrangements:

This role requires working shifts and days allocated to this vacancy: Wednesdays 9am to 5pm, Thursdays 9am to 5pm.
