About the Role
Charterhouse is seeking a highly skilled Rail Project Engineering Manager to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for providing planning, engineering, and construction support for projects.
About You
We are looking for someone with substantial experience in project delivery and/or engineering works, preferably in a rail environment. You should have strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders to achieve client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with clients and key stakeholders to evaluate principal, technological, and systemic requirements to meet the Statement of Work (SOW) and functional specifications.
- Work with Program/Project Managers and Planners on preliminary and detailed scoping, initial costing, and planning for the project.
- Assist the Program/Project Manager in preparing the Project Management Plan (PMP) and associated project documentation, including safety plans, environmental plans, Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs), and quality plans.
- Coordinate risk management workshops and rail safety reviews.
- Analyse drawings and associated design and project documentation for technical accuracy and suitability.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure assessment of safety in design and constructability reviews.
- Participate in tender evaluation with respect to established specifications, ensuring the technical merits of all tenders are carefully assessed.
- Monitor and report project progress against the project plan, including scope, schedule performance, quality, cost, earned value, and estimates.
- Coordinate handover process for completed works to stakeholders, including obtaining their acceptance of the works as completed and to their satisfaction.
- Coordinate defect management and close-out, ensuring re-work is captured, measured, and reported.
Your Skills and Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or equivalent related industry experience.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Substantial experience in providing engineering advice and support, including functional specification development, design coordination, safety in design, constructability reviews, testing, and commissioning.
- Demonstrated experience in project management support, including developing estimates, preparing schedules, managing budgets and cost, planning resources, project controls, and status reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing relevant standards, such as Australian Engineering and Technical standards.
- Demonstrated success in managing risk and safety performance in compliance with safety legislation, rules, and procedures.
Earnings
This role offers an attractive daily rate of $850 - $880, plus superannuation benefits.
