Cultural Ambassador Role

We are seeking an accomplished Cultural Ambassador to spearhead the publication of stories from Indigenous communities. This dynamic role involves collaborating with these communities, providing cultural guidance on manuscripts and illustrations, and delivering cultural training to educators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaising with local communities to support the publication process
  • Culturally advising on manuscript texts and artwork
  • Working with the Our Yarning Coordinator to deliver cultural education to teachers
  • Managing cultural and intellectual property considerations, including consent and ownership arrangements
Requirements
  • Expertise in and understanding of cultural protocols and community engagement strategies
  • Able to lead with cultural awareness and respect
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate and build genuine relationships in community settings
  • Experience delivering workshops with expert facilitation and mediation abilities
