We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer Intern to join our team and start their career in geotechnical engineering.

  • Please note that as an internship, this role is designed for final year civil engineering or geotechnical engineering students or recent graduates.

You will be based in the field performing surveying work, involving foundation piling, slope stabilisation and ground improvement.

You will also have the opportunity to learn a range of software including Total Station for construction measurement, engineering and monitoring.

Main Responsibilities:
  • You will provide technical advice to operations during greenfield analysis on reserves quality, drilling programs and geotechnical parameters.
  • You will undertake soil investigations and surveying work in the field.
  • You will support the senior geotechnical engineering team with surveying and footings.
  • You will provide geotechnical reviews and advice to stakeholders, and track and manage areas of risk.
  • You will conduct PERC/JORC reporting for reserves and resources.
  • You will identify and support operations with shortage of reserves, and assess appropriate replacement reserves.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical knowledge of geotechnical software such as deswik CAD, LeapFrog, and MINEX.
  • Ability to perform field work, surveying, footings and testing required for geotechnical engineering projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
