Senior Firmware Developer

Secure Parking is one of the largest commercial car park operators in Australia, with over 450 car parks across Australia and New Zealand.

We are looking for an innovative Senior Firmware Developer to make a significant impact in the IoT space. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining firmware for equipment ensuring seamless integration with devices.

  • Design, implement, and deploy firmware from concept to production across a fleet of IoT devices.
  • Document firmware designs, test results, maintain comprehensive documentation.
  • Automate device provisioning, develop ongoing support for bidirectional control and communication.
  • Test firmware applications, identify bugs ensure reliability performance.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineers integrate firmware with hardware components.
  • Analyse system requirements continuously improve firmware solutions.
  • Develop standard operating installation procedures onsite technicians.
  • Enhance firmware performance power efficiency.
  • Ensure compatibility future hardware iterations manage updates.
  • Apply security best practices adhere PCI DSS standards.
  • Stay updated latest trends technologies firmware development.

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience commercial firmware development embedded systems engineering, proficiency in C, C++, Python, Embedded Linux RTOS.
  • Strong understanding embedded systems architectures integrations writing peripheral device drivers.
  • Experience software compilation deployment debugging monitoring tools.
  • Experience revision control systems Git DevOps.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication interpersonal skills effective collaboration cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree Computer Science Electrical Engineering Electronics related field equivalent experience.
  • Certified Firmware Engineer CFE Certified Embedded Systems Engineer CESE preferred.
  • Azure IoT Developer Certification AZ-220 experience Azure IoT Edge.
  • Proven experience working Azure environment.
  • Experience working Device Tree Blobs DTB configure optimise Linux distributions.
  • Experience Linux kernel compilation OS installation/upgrades embedded systems single-board computers.
