Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned embedded systems engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge quantum sensing and navigation technology, leveraging expertise in cold-atom interferometry, magnetometry, and inertial navigation.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and integrate embedded systems for Q-CTRL's quantum sensing and navigation systems targeting Xilinx SoC and STM32 platforms.
  • Develop control, sensing, and actuation firmware needed to autonomously operate next-generation quantum sensors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of scientists and engineers to drive research and development and product-focused projects forward.
  • Contribute to field trials with industry partners.
  • Create test and simulation setups including hardware-in-the-loop test fixtures.
Key Requirements:
  • Experience working in research environments and collaborating with established engineering teams and research scientists.
  • Expertise in algorithm development for control systems and autonomous sensor operation.
  • Proficiency with systems programming languages such as C, C++, or Rust.
  • Experience with hardware description languages (Verilog/VHDL).
  • Experience creating embedded Linux distributions using tools like Buildroot, Yocto, or Petalinux.
  • Experience using RTOS to develop microcontroller firmware.
  • Prior experience with embedded systems involving FPGA interfacing (JESD204, AXI interfaces) is highly desirable.
  • Candidates with experience qualifying or deploying systems for use in aircraft will be given preference.
