Operational Risk Manager Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Manager to join our team. This key role is responsible for embedding our Operational Risk Management Framework within Financial Services.

  • This involves driving a strong risk culture and awareness within Group Finance, as well as proactively managing risks, controls, incidents, and issues in the profile.
  • The successful candidate will provide guidance and advice to senior leaders on risk-related matters and develop strong relationships across the Group built on integrity and trust.
Key Responsibilities:
  • The role requires ensuring risks are profiled and captured in the Group Finance Business Profile (RCSA) and updated when trigger events occur.
  • You will be responsible for managing control development, assessments, testing, and scheduling in the Group Finance Business Profile and providing advice and guidance in accordance with the risk management framework.
  • The successful candidate will oversee and guide others to conduct root cause analysis of issues and incidents and manage these to conclusion.
  • They will also be responsible for analysing new policies and procedures and discussing impacts and insights with the broader Group Finance team.
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for the data quality in various databases (including RiskInSite) and monthly risk reporting (including at the Group Finance Non-Financial Risk Committee (NFRC)).
  • You will contribute to the annual Compliance Self-Assessment for Obligations within the Business Profile.
  • Finally, the role will support Line 2 and Line 3 assurance activities and assist with ad-hoc deliverables to support the EGM Group Finance.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in operational risk management within financial services
  • Strong knowledge of risk frameworks and methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders
