Job Overview

The Project Engineer is responsible for leading and managing teams to complete designs accurately, utilizing Civil 3D and other engineering software to produce construction drawings and engineering calculations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete designs and lead/manage teams to achieve accurate results.
  • Utilize Civil 3D and other engineering software to produce construction drawings and engineering calculations associated with land development projects.
  • Lead, train, manage, and mentor junior level engineers.
  • Be the engineer of record for assigned projects.
  • Develop and refine organizational processes and engineering processes to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Prepare construction documents, permit documents, reports, and other project deliverables.
  • Review QA/QC others' work and revise plans as needed to meet quality expectations and schedule milestones.
  • Apply project management techniques to manage schedules and budgets for all projects.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and sub consultants.
  • Perform stormwater BMP design calcs and sizing of permanent and temporary ponds.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited school.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in the state of North Carolina (or ability to obtain).
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
