We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Production team as Head of Production Engineering. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of production systems, including equipment, processes, training, quality management, returns management, and Design for Manufacture.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in high-volume electronics manufacturing, with a proven track record of managing people. A background in FAI, Verification & Validation (V&V), PCB design, testing, and troubleshooting is essential. Strong communication, problem-solving, and debugging skills are also required.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in production and production engineering functions, with a deep understanding of complex technical domains. Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and ISO 9001:2015 is preferred. Experience with ERP tools, such as Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, or SAP, is also beneficial.
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders across the business, including R&D Engineers, Production Technicians, and Heads of Departments. The successful candidate will be based at our UTS TechLabs Botany facility, spending 1-2 days a week at our George Street Office and 1-2 weeks per quarter at our Balcatta facility in WA.
Responsibilities:- Manage a team of 7 Production Engineers, providing direction, coaching, development, and support.
- Take a leadership role in Advanced Navigation's quarterly planning process, designing laser-focused Production Engineering goals.
- Represent core Production Engineering principles with internal stakeholders, educating the business through formal and informal communications.
- Partner with the Head of Production to maintain the Production Line, analysing failed products, equipment, or processes to quarantine for analysis and repair.
- Work with the team to ensure Advanced Navigation's Production equipment is optimized, maintained, and available for use.
- Partner with the Head of Purchasing & Logistics to select quality, innovative suppliers, driving supplier selection protocols within the business.
- Partner with the Support Team to manage Customer Returns effectively, providing quality analysis and reporting findings.
- Contribute to the evolution of Design for Manufacture practices, working with the Head of R&D to develop product development and production system design.
