As a Neonatal Nurse Educator, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of neonatal nursing by designing and delivering innovative educational programs.

Role Overview

You will guide new staff as they begin their journey in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and foster ongoing professional development of experienced clinicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of NICU staff.
  • Support the orientation and onboarding process for new staff members, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to identify learning needs and develop targeted education programs.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote quality improvement and safety within the NICU.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and post-registration qualifications in education or equivalent experience.
  • Post-graduate qualification in education or willingness to work towards one.
  • Leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
  • Commitment to family-centered care and evidence-based practice.
