Are you passionate about empowering young people to become confident and safe drivers? Do you have the leadership skills and maturity to mentor and guide them on their journey?

At The Salvation Army, we offer a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. Our Drive for Life program is designed to equip young people with the skills and knowledge they need to obtain their driver's license, while also providing them with positive role models and mentors.

The Volunteer Driving Supervisor will play a vital role in supporting our program participants as they work towards their goal. You will be required to sit in the car with our participants, assist in logging necessary hours, reinforce safe driving skills and ensure all road rules and regulations are followed.

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build rapport with young people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. You will also need to be empathetic and understanding, with a high level of maturity and leadership skills.

As a valued member of our team, you will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure your success in this role. You will also have access to Salvation Army vehicles for the purposes of this volunteer role.

Mandatory requirements of the role include a willingness to undertake a Working with Children Check and a Criminal History Record Check. You must also be willing to engage in training provided for the role and hold a current unrestricted Driver Licence.

Time commitment for this role is 2-4 hours per week or fortnight, with flexibility to accommodate varying schedules. A minimum 3-month commitment is requested, although longer-term commitments are encouraged.
