JOB SUMMARY

Procurement Specialist Role

This position plays a pivotal role in our National Security Solutions team, where you will have the opportunity to work on high-end engineering and advanced technology projects that impact national security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to procure goods, services, and supplies in accordance with company policies and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Take ownership of purchases supporting customer-related business processes or internal use, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Discuss defects and delivery problems with suppliers, negotiate refunds, and coordinate with operations, maintenance, warehouse, and engineering teams for proper scheduling and movement of goods.
  • Use experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes, providing guidance to less experienced team members as needed.
  • Review and approve supplier invoices with KBR's Accounts Payable Department and contribute to Supplier Performance Evaluations.
Requirements:
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to customer-related information sensitivity.
  • Undergraduate degree and 5+ years of experience in procurement or related field.
  • Thorough understanding of FAR, DFARS, and NAICS concepts, practices, and procedures within Government Prime Contractor purchasing.
  • Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and time management skills, with ability to prioritize multiple projects under general supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptability, and ability to manage shifting priorities.
  • Professional relationships with peers, suppliers, and customers, contributing to a positive work environment by demonstrating integrity, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes, including knowledge of Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) procedures.
Security Clearance:

Candidates must possess or have the ability to obtain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance or an Australian TS/PV clearance. A polygraph examination may be required as part of the US clearance process.
