Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Medical Director to join our team at Southern NSW Local Health District. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic and operational medical leadership and advice to ensure high-quality healthcare service provision at our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational medical leadership and advice to ensure high-quality healthcare service provision
  • Support the General Managers, Executive, and medical staff of the hospitals to provide integrated clinical services
  • Develop and implement clinical leadership strategies to drive quality improvement and patient safety
  • Collaborate with clinician managers and other stakeholders to develop and maintain effective relationships
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to support change management initiatives
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and negotiation skills to achieve key objectives
Requirements
  • Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, and/or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award
  • Demonstrated experience and effective performance in a senior leadership role in a complex health organization
  • Demonstrated experience and capability in driving a culture of professional medical administration and governance
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, persuade and negotiate at a senior management level
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical leadership, including coaching, mentoring, and training skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with clinician managers and other stakeholders
  • Valid unrestricted driver's licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment
