Our team of experts is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Environmental Assessment Officer to join our dynamic team.

This exciting role will see you working at the forefront of the renewable energy transition, assessing the merits of state-significant energy projects and delivering high-quality assessment advice to ensure that these projects meet all statutory obligations and government policy requirements.

  • We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, who can effectively convey complex technical information in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • You will also need strong problem-solving abilities, outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, and demonstrated knowledge of relevant environmental assessment and planning legislation and processes.
  • A degree in environmental science management, planning, law or engineering, or other relevant discipline, is essential, as well as a willingness to travel and hold a valid driver's license.
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the NSW Government's assessment and regulation of high-profile projects across the renewable energy sector. You will be part of a dynamic team that works on large-scale wind farms, solar farms, transmission lines, pumped hydro and batteries (BESS) across NSW.

The successful candidate will have the ability to identify key issues and recommend practical, forward-thinking solutions, and will be able to build relationships and increase engagement with various stakeholders, including external agencies and the community.
