Emotional Support Paramedic/Nurse

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in people's lives by providing emotional support and care during non-emergency patient transport.

As an Emotional Support Paramedic/Nurse, you will be working closely with patients who require medical attention while traveling from home to hospital, hospital to hospital, and hospital to home. Your primary responsibility will be to provide emotional support and reassurance to patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and safe throughout their journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient needs and develop personalized care plans to address their emotional and medical requirements.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients, promoting a sense of calm and comfort.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest best practices and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Registered Paramedic or Division 1 Registered Nurse.
  • Experience in non-emergency patient transport or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and on-call periods.
